I start work today! Ack!
Woke up around 7 am, didn't have that long of a sleep after going to the park to watch the Portugal game.
Just had a simple breakfast of a buttered roll and coffee, will take advantage of the hotel breakfast tomorrow.
HR called in a frenzied state because they thought that they told me the start time was 09:00, thankfully I knew that it was at 14:00 or else I would have been late for my first day.
Currently sitting in the finanças office for a NIF number which is needed for work. I just hope they speak English, despite what I've been told, I've found that very little people outside the tourist area's or drug dealers speak English. I still need to get used to living in a country without really knowing the language.
If I somehow get this today I will then just need a bank account and I'll be set. I am glad that by using the address of my host I can save some possible issues.

Well..it took just over 2 hours and €10.20 but I got it, at first they didn't want to provide it because I did not have proof of my UK address, thankfully I managed to convince the woman to use the contract as proof.
Afterwards I went to the bank to try and open an account.. not much luck, will have to get it sorted via work.
Speaking of work, had my first day. Seems like a nice mix of people with even two from Rotterdam South. Was just mostly introduction and signing about 28385 papers (give or take) kind of annoyed me that most of them were in Portuguese, that caused me to be one of the last ones out and miss the Holland game.
Got some basic shopping, would buy more..but a working fridge would be great..and I don't have one, I'll sort that tomorrow. Just had some spaghetti and a boiled egg while watching the Brazil - Cameroon game.
Bed time soon..more training tomorrow with a 09:30 start.
